Thanks for stopping by; we are glad you’re here. Please give us just a minute to tell you who we are and what we are all about.
The Pike Association of Southern Baptists is a group of local churches in eastern Kentucky that love Jesus Christ and our local communities. Each summer, we spend an entire week performing random acts of kindness all over Pike County. If you’re reading this, then you probably came in contact with one of our volunteers. Thanks again for allowing us to serve you!
The question we get asked most often is “why do you do these things for free?” And the answer is simply that God loves you, and so do we. There’s two parts to that answer, so hang with us just a little while longer as we explain both parts.
First, God loves you. He loves you because He created you to live for Him. But, nobody’s perfect. None of us live exactly the way God wants us to. Check out this short video that talks more about this:
God didn’t just say that He loved the world; He proved it by his actions. The Bible says that God demonstrated his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us. He died to fix our brokenness. He died so that we could recover and pursue God’s design for our lives. He died so that we can have eternal life. And Jesus offers this eternal life as a free gift. The Bible says that “the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
Just as God proved his love by his actions, we want to do the same thing. That’s why everything is free. We love eastern Kentucky and the people of eastern Kentucky. And we hope that you felt loved as we tried to serve you.
If you don’t have a church home, we would invite you to visit one of the churches in our association. You can find a list of those churches along with contact info here. If, after watching the video above, you’d like to know more about how God can fix the brokenness in your life and give you eternal life, feel free to contact any of our churches or send an email to email@example.com. We’d love to hear from you and to share more about why God loves you and we do too.
